Campfire Time!

A Realistic Indoor Campfire
with Lee Elmer and Friends!

Lee and Willie are lost somewhere in the past.  They are looking for a place called Range.
Folks can tell which year they're in by thinking of the time when the songs were popular.
Sometimes we have pop and popcorn!
Once we had smores and coffee, but Lee overdosed on the smores.

Songs made popular by Stephen Foster, The Sons of the Pioneers, old hymns patriotic and classic country songs.   A campfire experience with stories of life on the prairie.

- Preparations -
We darken a corner of the
activity area.  We use a real oak log set with a simulated fire that makes you do a double-take at your first encounter.
An artificial tree, saddle bags and other cowboy  items are set up around the fire, underneath our tree branch.
Participants in wheelchairs are moved to the front of the campfire, spaced so everyone can see the fire.
We use our imagination as we interact with the participants.

- Overheard at the Campfire -

"Can we have a fire in here?"

"Range?  I used to live there!"

"Take me to my room."

"I've been there… you won't like it!"
(after hearing that we're looking for a place called Range)

"I don't want them to leave!"

"Did you see a raccoon?"

"You guys are gonna burn a hole in the floor!"

Take your family to an old fashioned
Gospel Music Festival!
They're popping up all over Wisconsin.
